7 To Smoke:
The 7 to Smoke is a separate event after the official GBB battle days. This category happens in a different venue and is the first qualifier for next year’s GBB25 solo category. SBX opens 80 slots as elimination. Eight chosen beatboxers battle in individual 90-second rounds against the king (beginning with the highest-ranked elimination round). If a beatboxer wins a battle, they get a point and remain the king to be battled. Once a beatboxer wins seven rounds, they become the champion.
This format was invented in the dancing community as a battle format and was introduced by Madox from Germany into the beatbox community (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYrLF8HJyyI). The 7 To Smoke has been part of GBB since 2014 and has happened eight times.
Ticket sales for 7 To Smoke, to be held at Shibuya O-EAST on 11/4, will begin this Friday, 2/9 at 21:00.
